The Searcy Family
Will is the 4th generation Owner and Funeral Director at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory. Founded in 1908 by his great grandfather it is one of Alabama's oldest family owned and operated Funeral Homes. Will has always had a passion for helping others during the loss of a loved one by providing the highest quality of care and compassion. Having been an animal lover all of his life he saw Aquamation as the perfect opportunity to extend his passion by offering animals the same respect in their aftercare as they did in life. He and his wife, Kate Searcy, have 3 boys, a yellow lab named Wink, and 3 cats, "Das Mine" -translation...That's Mine!, Kitty Kitty, and Mini Max. They understand the integral role animals play in peoples lives.
"A pet is not JUST an animal, but a life-long companion that completes your family by becoming a part of it."

The scientific name for this water-based process is alkaline hydrolysis.
It is the same process that occurs as part of nature's course when a body is laid to rest in the soil. Although the process is water-based, it uses less water than a single household uses in one day from start to finish.
The water-based process is 95% water and 5% alkali. The alkali used in this process is the same alkali used in cosmetics, soaps, shaving creams, and even food preparation. By the end of the process, the chemical has been used and no longer remains in the solution. The remaining liquid is safe enough to be used as a nutrient rich, organic fertilizer.
A gentler way to honor your beloved pet.
Aquamation is a water-based process that's an eco-friendly alternative to flame cremation and burial. It uses water instead of fire to return a body back to Mother Nature.
